My apologies if this located elsewhere, but what are the maximum dimensions for uploaded photos? In other words, what's the largest width photo I can upload without forum software automatically resizing the image for me?
The reason I ask is that I normally export my images with a maximum dimension of 1800 pixels, but even when I do it at 1200 the forum software seems to resize it down to 1024, losing a bunch of detail in the process - or at least it would seem so when you click on it to display it. Or is it that it resizes it to 1024 but displays it at monitor resolution (i.e. downsizes it on upload and then upsizes it on display)? Either way, when you spend time getting your photos to look sharp this can be extremely frustrating.
This is one reason I've been linking to my Flickr account on all my photos, but there are things that I don't want to upload there and therefore would prefer to export my image with the optimum settings.
