Upgrading to the D750

Sounds like it's not so much "Instant Savings" as it is a "Simplified Rebate". Given that it starts 4/16 it sounds like you're out of luck with the new camera, but I'd try it anyway once it's up (not sure how they're going to enforce the purchase date unless you need to attach a scan of the receipt). Just don't register yet.

Never had to deal with them. Crosses fingers, toes, etc. Are they really that bad?
Unfortunately, yes. While I've never had to deal with them on a personal level, I work in the Visual Arts department at a college and I *have* had to deal with them on a business-to-business level numerous times. In short, and in comparison to their "Main Competitor" (who I've also dealt with numerous times), they're horrible. I mean there's just no other way tot put it. It's one of the big reasons I bough my D750 "grey" and then got a warranty through Square Trade; specifically so I wouldn't have to deal with Nikon should something go wrong.

The $300 is shown as an Instant Rebate at B&H and Adorama, so no dealing with Nikon.

Good news is that Best Buy has it listed at $300 off now as well, so I'd drag by but down there today and get that credit issued!!

I actually just got back from there on my lunch break! They honored it no questions asked since I had the receipt and now I have $321 to invest in a second lens (yay!).

You've owned your D750 for a while, haven't you? Isn't there a time frame limit to their price guarantees?

My post was for Jtedlin as he'd purchased his on Monday and we'd discussed what was possible if it was done as an actual rebate from Nikon. The most I've ever seen any option cover on price drops is 60 days with some premium credit cards. I'm well beyond that.

Oops, you know what? After rereading your first post, I see I misread it. Thought you said I'll drag my butt down there today and get that credit issued!
