Thanks hark. I purchased the flash from Amazon, along with the 622N-TX and 622N II. First, let me say I'm about the LEAST expert person on Facebook in the world... So, not finding something there never surprises me. I looked through Facebook, and found some pages for Yongnuo, but the "Yongnuo flash" page doesn't appear to allow me to enter comments. Nor did the other ones associated with Yongnuo. I went to the speedlightfundaments page you showed, and it appears to be some kind of "member only" thing. It appears I have to do some kind of "mother may I" to ask a question there. I hit the "join group" button and I presume I'll eventually hear from someone... cwgrizz, your link caused me to go back to the 622N-TX online manual, and on page 15 I found this link: www.hkyongnuo.com/e-detail.php?ID=339 except that it's not working. So, I did the search again and found the firmware downloads at https://www.photo-store.net/firmware-downloads/ The only version of 1.10 I could find was for the 622C, which caused me to go to MY folder and see exactly WHAT I'd been installing. I'd downloaded and INSTALLED version YN622C-TX_FW_V1.10. Which makes me feel a WHOLE lot better that it was MY stupid human trick, not Yongnuo's........ THOUGH, it would be nice if the update software yelled and screamed that I was about to DO SOMETHING STUPID LIKE INSTALL THE CANON VERSION, THAT WOULD BRICK THE 622N-TX... So, unless I'm still incorrect, and there's a Nikon version of 1.10 out there, it appears that 1.08 is the current version, and as long as you install the NIKON one in your 622N-TX, it appears to work...... As for the firmware updates for the YN685, those problems appear to be with file naming, and once I found the topic elsewhere that said "if there are gibberish characters in your filename, rename it", and did so, it worked fine. Though, AGAIN, it would be NICE IF THE INSTALLER SOFTWARE WOULD YELL AND SCREAM AND NOT INSTALL FIRMWARE THAT TURNS THE 685 INTO A BRICK UNTIL YOU RENAME THE FIRMWARE FILE.
