Bought a Yonquo 685 strobe, 622N-TX xmitter, and 622N-II transciever... In THEORY, they work fine. But, I SWEAR, I'm NEVER gonna update the firmware on ANY piece of photographic equipment again!
Last year, updated the NIkon D810 and it spent 2 weeks at Nikon 'cause the update failed and bricked the body.
THIS TIME, while reading through the manuals for the 622N-TX, it stated that I should make sure it was using the current firmware... Mine had 1.05 and 1.10 was out so I downloaded it and updated the transmitter... Worked fine. Indicated no problems. Everything looked fine. UNTIL I TURNED IT ON AGAIN... Here's what the display looks like now:
Yes, I tried the two-button reset. Yes, I replaced the batteries. Yes, I powered it off and on repeatedly. And so on... I'm going to try updating again, but...
BTW: The 685 has a new version of firmware available too, but at this point I'm afraid to touch it.....
