The fact that it has a hydrolic locking system makes me wonder. Could it leak and become worthless? Could it become an issue over time, losing fluid maybe?

Well it looks interesting, especially for the systematic gitzo tripod it is designed for. But for that cost, I would need to be more sure of it's durability and smooth control I think.

It cost quite a bit more than the Arca Swiss Z1 DP ball head I would normally go for.

I finally found short review on the Gitzo ball head, and there was one downside mentioned. It is limited on how sharp an angle you can do, making it difficult to say shoot at birds or other critters high up in the trees. There has been no long term review of how it holds up, so it is hard to say if it will be prone to have issues over time.

I think I will stick with my tried and true Arca Swiss Z1 DP ball head. :D

After a few years, I might check again on that Gitzo ball head and see what the reviews say then.:)
