Needless to say that here on Long Island the price just keeps going up,last wednesday it was $ 4.99 per gal reg god knows what it will be when my wife heads to the gas can now.!!

Trust me, it's pain....wait for it....FULL!!!! And very much so, at that. What's worse is the lame excuses we're given for the lack of supply. Currently there's an idea being passed around to let CA open up their "winter" gasoline supply earlier than usual since there's more than enough of this gas. For reasons I'm not quite clear on, the "winter" blend is "dirtier" than the summer blend, nevertheless, if it brings prices back to being just "expensive" instead of "insanely expensive", I wouldn't care whether it was dirty, clean or anywhere in between.

Where I live, today's gas price is $1.18 a liter. That's $5.39 a gallon! And yeah....most of that is government taxes! Legalized robbery!

Here in Central Virginia, the price ranges from $3.43 to $3.59 per Gallon (US) within a five mile radius. Why is there a 15 cents difference in this short a distance?

Yup - the good old Rip-off UK. Current pump prices here are £6.37 and thats pretty bottom line, here in the South anyways. Thats per UK gallon ...

Transposed into American makes this $10.27 per gallon when using UK gallons.

Over in the UK, petrol is closer to $8 a (US) gallon

It's more than that as far as I can work out. Average UK price per litre today is £1.38. There are 4.5-ish litres in a gallon, thats's £7.50- ish per gallon. £7.50 = $11.00!!!!

Edit: I didn't take into account the difference between UK and US gallons, but still...

Its not £7.50 per UK gallon

1 UK Gallon = 4.546 Litres

the current pump price ( at least in the south ) as i said above is coming out around £1.39 per litre

£1.39 x 4.546 = £6.31p per UK Gall. Slightly more accurate than my first calc, but only out by 7p

This equates to $10.10 at todays exchange
