Read the recommended file size for the site(s) you are posting to.  If you are only posting to the web or social media, you could even lower the resolution in the camera to shorten download times and save SD card space.I know that starting out you want the best possible quality for your pictures.  Today's jpegs, especially out of your Nikon will be more than good enough for any posts on the net and will give you a great print.  Magazines accept jpegs.</blockquote>
