Trying to use wireless trigger/receiver for Nikon D300 and Bowens Strobes....

Hi All

I have a D300 (old I know but she's trusty) the thing is I bought a Neewer trigger and receiver so I dont need to plug a cable into the hotshoe for my strobes when I'm shooting fashion as it gets in the way. It's just not working at all! The test button on the trigger fires the strobes but then it wont fire from the shutter release. I have a cable which fires from the hotshoe fine. And the internal camera mounted flash triggers the strobes - so my question what am I doing wrong here? I have tried commander mode and TTL mode on the settings. Want to make sure it's not me before I buy a new one....

Reading the text, it seems the trigger is not being triggered by the camera. Many possibilities on why.

To try and narrow the possibilities, try that trigger on the hotshoe cable instead of directly on the camera shoe. If that works, it could be as simple as the trigger not fitting against the electrical contacts right. Testing on another camera would be nice if possible. At the least verify all the camera settings are right for using a speedlight.

The transmitter is for Nikon and compatible with the D300? Using TTL on the body setting should work, commander is for Nikon CLS which use the built in flash or a hot shoe mounted CLS compatible flash to trigger remote compatible units. I use a set of old Pocket Wizards which are not TTL compatible an fire fine with cameras set to TTL.
You may be able to Neewer for support also.
