As stated, the memory cards no longer work in the camera which is why the computer isn't recognizing them. I hate to say it but it sounds like there may be a problem with the camera. I suppose it could be the old card reader. I would buy a new, inexpensive card and use it the camera and see if it gets corrupted like the others.
