Touch-Screen / Live view Focus Point Selection Not Working

Hello All,

Recently I was trying to set up a shot on my D850 using Live View. Up until this point, when using Live View, I was able to select the focus point by simply tapping the touch screen. Now this feature is not working. When I tap on a different part of the screen to where the focus point currently is, the focus point remains where it is. I can move it using the multi-selector on the back of the camera but not by touching the screen. It is not a problem with the touchscreen as the touchscreen works fine in Playback mode. I have no idea if I accidently changed some esoteric setting or something and I can't find a solution. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

I don't know how it works on the D850, but on my Z cameras there is an option to turn off the touch screen. I keep mine off to keep my nose from changing the focus point when looking through the viewfinder.

In live view there is an option on the upper left of the screen The "The Touch AF Icon": Enable or disable touch AF. When touch AF is enabled, focus point can be positioned and autofocus initiated by tapping monitor. Conversely, when it's disabled the only way to choose a focus point is with the multi-selector
