Tokina 24-70mm f/2.8

Sounds like Tokina will be getting into the game with a pro level 24-70mm zoom. I wonder how it will stack up against Nikon's and Tamron's 24-70mm zooms?

yea saw that a few days ago and im very curious. I had the 28-80 ATX 2.8 in the film era. great lens from f/4 but id love to see how this is. no VR..oh well. it does look like a toy small toy though. about time those dummies woke up. now wheres that 70-200? they did an 80-200 years back and havent awoken from their coma yet. what gives.
