To my Nikonites friends

I just wanted to acknowledge that I realize I have been a little less active here the past week. There are several reasons and none have to do with anyone or anything here on the forum.

One, I have just been a little exhausted lately. A lot of stuff has been requiring my attention and time. A new job has been my priority and the formal interviews, polygraph tests and other such necessities of the hiring process has taken me away from my daily life.

I have other interviews coming up and probably more polygraph and psychological evaluations to do.

Also, I shot my first paid photo job last week and I can say for sure I will never again criticize another photographer for not having time for a forum after a photo job session. It has been very time consuming and taxing to process all of my digital images, dealing with the parents who have paid and those who have not, adding logos to some images, emails back and forth and even some special requests.

I did enjoy it but I can definitely see where it could change the way you view your photography. As you all may have noticed I have not posted any of my usual bird and wildlife shots and have not even commented much on the posts by others.

I want to apologize for my absence an seeming lack of interest and involvement. I assure you that it is not lack of interest or even lack of my desire for involvement. I am just finishing up some things and I hope to get back to my usual activities soon.

I sure look forward to getting back to normal.

Priority is your life with all its daily things to do. Don't worry that we're are angry you not being everyday 100% forum -active.

Get your things done and don't forget sometimes to update how's going on with your interviews. Finger crossed and good luck my friend. Hope that you can get the right job which satisfied you.

I was once interviewed by a psychologist for about 3 hours. It was for a high-stress job position requiring a proper psychological values .

The interview required me to sit in a dark room and stare at a light (similar to the type a doctor uses to check your ears) held by the PHD about 3 feet away. The light enabled him to see the back of my eyes through the retinas.

The back of your eyes will actually change colors according to your mood, reactions, and stress levels. It allowed the PHD to ask more involved in-depth questions than the plain yes/no used with a polygraph.

It was pretty interesting and my interview was actually written up in a medical journal.

And, I got the job.

I'm in the same boat Mike. From 10+ hours of work 6 days a week to doctor visits and picture processing. Times get busy. I get on here sometimes and just look at the pictures. No time to stop and smell the roses.

I was beginning to think that I needed to print out a copy of your self-portrait and drive over to Havana to ask around if anybody had seen you lately!;)

I'd noticed that you weren't posting like you had been, and I'm relieved to hear from you that it's due to a busy schedule, not a more serious issue. Good luck with the paying gig and the other job interviews. Between my job and my kids' activities, I'm in same boat, with very little time for photography.
