If I turn mine manually it's really tight, if a slow turn is needed, it will move in spirts, not a smooth transition at all, kind of choppy movement. The auto focus seems to work fine, it gives me sharp images. I also discovered that if you hold the lens close to your head, and slowly move it back and forth, you can hear something moving in there. I called Nikon and they said it was ball bearings, it is normal. I kind of find that hard to chew, never experienced that before in any lens. What do you think...thanks</p></blockquote><p></p>
