Finally, the last "Light Painting", and last photo in this set, was the first room we came to, the kitchen. For those who are fans of captions, I call this...

Honey, Look, It's Got An Eat-In Kitchen

Again, we were so enthralled by the amount of color in this place. We only wish it hadn't been so stark in the utter lack of decor. But it presented us with so many nooks and crannies that it was a great way to kill 3 hours on a day that was utterly perfect outside for everything but the type of photos we were looking to shoot.

This photo fascinates me! I don't see in 3-D yet there is something about this photo that gives me the illusion of 3-D. Whether it has to do with the perspective from where it was shot or how you processed it, I don't know. It has something to do with the fish eye yet none of your other fish eye photos has this same effect. Usually items that are created to replicate 3-D make my brain want to weird out on me--quite often it is difficult to look at something that is replicating 3-D, and forget those Magic Eye wall calendars. I've never been able to process one of those yet! But this photo...it not only grabs my attention, it makes me want to reach out and touch something in the room! :)

GREAT work Jake. Really nice shots you've got in there. You should be proud of your light painting work.

There's actually much less processing on this, and the other light painted photos, than the original posts. It's almost an inverted 2-point perspective, going into the frame instead of out of it. That's definitely the look I was going for. If there's any real tweaking here it was with distortion correction, where I did my best to reduce some of the curves, particularly in the back corner. The fisheye is a great lens for this, and I was wishing I'd brought the D800 since it's a cropped lens and I'm only getting 10MP's from the D600. No complaints - it's plenty big enough for the web.
