It will be a few months before you see many reviews. Nikon's latest new lenses have been excellent and designed for the newer, more dense sensors. I bought the new Fx 18-35 without much review and it is excellent

I certainly won't be dumping my 18-105 for one considering the price. The 18-140mm costs half again as much as the 18-105mm ($600 vs. $400) but only gives you 25% more zoom.

Now if the IQ turns out to be just off-the-charts smashingly good, then I'll be forced to reconsider my position. As it appears it's just another consumer-grade lens, though, I'm not holding my breath.

It is not really about the zoom or the prices yet i Think. They will probably make replace the 18-105 with this lens. After a few monts the price will be much lower and you will havel 18-140 in stead of 105.
