Short version of the long story. About 30 years ago I was very much into photography and shot 35mm with a Minolta camera. Family life happened and my photography hobby took a back seat to more important things. Fast forward to 2016, we bought our child a camera (Nikon D3300) for college and she later claimed that it didn't work right, wouldn't auto focus, and subsequently took it to a couple of camera shops that couldn't figure it out. Fast forward again to a few months ago when she mentioned the camera and I suggested she bring it over and let me look at it. Well, there was nothing wrong with it. She honestly didn't know how to use it. And I don't know what the camera shops couldn't figure it out. That said, I downloaded and installed the most recent firmware update, set the lens switches to A and set the camera to Auto. It worked perfectly fine. As I was testing different settings, and the two kit lenses, I remembered how much I enjoyed photography years ago. Next thing I know I'm outside taking pictures of all sorts of things and having a great time. In our back yard are bushes frequented by many different pollinators and other creatures and I took pictures of this bumble bee and spider using the 300mm kit lens. I was again hooked. About a month ago, I purchased a gently used D5600, 6 Nikon lenses, bag, tripod, and other stuff and I've been taking pictures every day since. So, these are the photos that reinvigorated my passion for photography.........
