You know what, I was doing som serious home cleaning the other day. Spring is about us!
In a little drawer, where mum keeps needles and stuff, tucked well inside the embroidery, something magical turned up;

A blue little box with a B+W 77mm Kaesemann Circular Polarizer MRC Filter MFR # 66-045620
----- UNOPENED!

I can not remember I have bought such a filter - this must be way over twenty years since this came into our house :)

So, should I break the seal, start to use it on my Tokina 12-28??

How do you use such pola filters? Its circular right, what does that mean?

Sorry for my incompetence, I have never been into the use of pola filters.

You can't go wrong with that puppy! SCORE!!!!!!

But I wouldn't use it on such an über-wide lens like a 12-28 as you'll get a lot of uneven polarization.

Circular means it's designed to allow the AF of modern digital cameras to function.

That was a good video. I picked up some good tips. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you found it useful. It's the best video I've found on the subject. Most tutorials regarding polarizing filters go on and on about how CPL's make skies/clouds look more dramatic, which, IMO, is a tiny little side benefit. The real advantage is removing stray, reflective light of which there is a great deal even in common, everyday situations, we just don't SEE it because we see it all the time.
