More than happy to take your word for it. I don't really have a need for any of the art series, just more money than I'd want to spend on short range primes. Granted I'm sure for some folks they would be well worth it, but I just don't shoot a lot of stuff that isn't medium to long telephoto so for me just isn't worth the price of admission. Relax. not an attack, just being a bit facetious. Sorry if you took it any other way. In general Tamron makes some really high quality lenses. I've had both the Nikkor 70-300mm VR and the Tamron 70-300mm VC. Of the two I actually preferred the Tamron, so I ended up selling the Nikkor. When I later on sold the Tamron, the Nikkor sold used at a much better price than the Tamron, even though of the two I liked the Tamron more. Not saying that always occurs, but having bought a fair share of used lenses I noticed that the prices of Tamrons/Sigma's generally goes down a lot more from the new price than a roughly equivalent Nikon lens. Might not be fair, etc - but it does happen to be true in most instances.
