The muse isn't really hitting

And I miss her, but I'm cool with that. I don't expect to be always on. I'm surprised how much the weather is a contributory factor and I want to nail how I can take interesting photos in whatever light. I think B&W, or selective, may be a winter project as I like the dramatic impact they can bring to even the drabbest snap. I spent an hour or so indoors today playing with macro, extension tubes and TCs but no keepers. I quite like that as it helps me learn how to use all the crap I've bought. I think I need to learn more about composing the equivalent of a still life rather than just snapping the moment. And I still have all my astrophotography to play with, not to mention portraiture ...

I think your right about composing. With that idea in mind, you might find a new way to take the shots you didn't think of as keepers, so that they can become keepers. A new angle, putting something with it to give it contrast, different lighting, and so on. :)
I think you still have your muse. I think you just need to think outside of the box a little. To let your creativity flow! :D

I agree with you that the weather is a killer. It was a little warmer here and I started to go out but then it started raining and now snowing again.

I know how you feel. It seems like every time I get into the groove something stops me. First it was the shoulder injury and then surgery. Get over it and get back to going and break a leg. almost over it and construction ties me down. Then ready to get started and my mom dies. Now the weather just won't cooperate. to cold or to wet. I am just blah.

I know what you all mean. It is either the weather, or my creeping old age, or work projects that I'm on a deadline to finish. In the words of the immortal Roseanna, Roseanna Danna "it is always something. If it ain't that it's something else, but it's always something'
