Message: <blockquote data-quote="Eyelight" data-source="post: 429298" data-attributes="member: 24753">I don't mind trying to help someone understand something, but you are going to have to put forth some effort.  At slower speeds, the first curtain opens, the shutter is fully open and then the 2nd curtain closes.  As shutter speed is increased, the time between movement of the two curtains is decreased until the two curtains are moving almost simultaneous with a small slit between them at the highest speeds.  The small slit between the curtains moving across the sensor exposes the sensor equally, but not all at once.  This is fact.  It is how focal plane shutters work.
