there are plenty of videos on youtube regarding composition for landscape photography. It'll probably be easier watching videos rather than us trying to explain how to compose shots.

Agreed.

Composition, composition, composition. If you want to improve your photography, learn it, love it, live it.

I love my wide angle lens, but like everyone else says it is about composition. For me I think buildings can be most challenging and you really need to think about it. LR can correct some of the distortion but it is still tough. I like landscapes the best and clouds against the horizon with my lens. But I am still learning as well.

I shoot wide angle in the old factory I am documenting so lines have to be square and true. I found software that really simplifies the process. It is called DxO Viewpoint.

I do want to add that when it comes down to composition of the shot, it is also about the story that you want to tell through your image.

Hey Don, thanks for the suggestion. I went and picked up that DxO Viewpoint and tried it out. Ended up buying it. I played with it on a bunch of wide angle shots I took at Church Sunday trying to capture the crowd and it really cleaned up the distortion and it was really easy to use. Thanks for mentioning it.

About My photos ends up at my homepage. I do write some words about my trips. The photos are very essential, they re part of the story, I want the photos to give the reader a real experience of how my trip was. Thats why I like wideangle. You get all of it, from the moss turf I am standing on to the mountain I am about to ascend.
