The best photo editing app for Android/iOS

So ladies and gents, we all know we use computers/laptops with Adobe photoshop or lightroom or other popular software. But there are times when you take photos on your phone and want to edit them without going through the effort of putting it onto your computer, opening it in photoshop, etc etc.

So incomes the photo editing apps for Android and iOS users. They are never meant to overtake your professional software, or even compete for that matter, but for on the go editing there are ALOT of apps available on the market.

So below is my personal choice, and this is purely my opinion, for the best photo editor on either the Play Store or the App Store. I would also like you guys to tell me your most used app or favourable app and what reason you have being using it.

Handy Photo

Now I've been using Handy Photo for a good couple of months now, both the tablet and phone versions, and I have to say i'm very impressed. The app offers a free version and a paid version (small fee) to get more advanced features.
The app is very well designed, with a beautiful layout and popping colours. The whole interface is very easy to navigate, and if your using the app for the first time, you will get help icons pop up to describe what the action does. You have you standard editing options like contrast, saturation, sharpness etc and you more instagram-y type filters from HDR to black and white.
The main thing for me that stands out apart from the general usability, is the fact the app can support upto 24mp photos, can handle raw files and more importantly, the EXIF data remains untouched after the edit. (Please note, after applying the Old Photo filter to a photo, the exif data dissappeared, so no promises with filters).

So whats your go to photo editor for your platform and why!!?

I have VSCO Cam on my Galaxy S4 and on my Ipad. VSCO is free, though they try to sell you filters later. You can crop, straighten, adjust contrast, saturation, white balance, tint, exposure, etc., then it has a bunch of free filters you can apply. My phone does not shoot RAW, so I have no idea if it works on those files. VSCO (pronounced V-Ess-Co) sends me emails occasionally to announce new free filters, which are usually sponsored. For example, they put out some filters "inspired by" Levis Jeans.

VSCO has an online Journal component, sort of like Flickr, and your library syncs across devices. You can choose what's displayed in your public Grid.

For goofy stuff, I have Skitch. That allows you to type, draw, crop, and highlight parts of pictures. It is not very sophisticated, but it does let you do quickie changes to phone pics. For example, I just saw a statement in a book that a friend would find interesting, so I shot it with my phone, used Skitch to highlight the relevant sentence, and sent him the pic by text.

Thanks for the tip on Handy Photo. I see it even has "content aware" object moving, but is only for sale at Google Play, no free version. ($2.97, I might take a chance.)

See that's one I've never tried, and I've tried alot! Thanks for the reply aswell, much appreciated.

Yeah Handy Photo has a cloning feature aswell as a lasoo feature which can come useful. I can't say the other apps i've tried has basically everything in one package.

And I think when i first downloaded Handy Photo there was a free version, obviously changed now unfortunately.

Lasso and cloning? Geez, now I need to get a Blutooth mouse for my phone! (Are you sure it isn't easier to do that on your PC?)

Hey! I agree, Handy Photo is a great choice for mobile editing. I personally use Snapseed and I have to say it's very intuitive. It offers a lot of advanced tools like selective adjustments and the ability to work with RAW files. Plus, its filters are really good. It's also worth mentioning that Snapseed allows saving edits as layers, which lets you make adjustments later on. This is a fantastic option for those who want full control over their photos. What other favorite apps do you guys have?

Whoa, you won't believe this, but I completely disagree with Handy Photo! I tried it a while back and wasn't impressed. It felt clunky to use, and the filters looked a bit cheesy.

However, I highly recommend Snapseed by Google! Now that's what I call awesome! The interface is clean and intuitive, and they have tons of filters, and really good ones at that! On top of that, you can make very precise adjustments to your photos, point-by-point and with no hassle. Seriously, give it a try!
