[QUOTE="BackdoorArts, post: 180896, member: 9240"] We brought Mom back to NJ on Friday for my Dad's burial (tomorrow). We live in the rural NW part of the state, and this week was our local county fair, which feature a hot air balloon launch on weekend evenings. My Mom has always loved them, and when we were growing up in the central part of the state back in the 70's we'd often find them landing in the field across from our house after taking off in the Princeton area on nice weekend mornings and evenings. When wind conditions are just right we have gotten as many as 5 balloons from the fair landing within "old man running distance" of the house, including a few right on the street in front of ours. For Mom's sake I was hoping we might see one or two, so I told her to keep her eyes open. During dinner I see her eyes get big as she's looking over my shoulder and out the window into the field behind our house. Sure enough!! It's been a very hard week for her, but for an hour Friday night all that went away as not only did she get to see one, but she got to help get it put away and stowed into the truck. She even made a friend in the balloonist ... who just happens to make his own balloons by hand (200 hours in the stitching of this one). Life is hard, but life is wonderful.
