How else do you think Apple was able to sell millions of iPhones every year for so long even though they were basically identical? :p It's the one thing Steve Jobs truly excelled at.

That same way camera companies sell new models to people that don't need them all of the time? While not on the level that Apple sells them, it's nearly the same thing.

Pretty much. It's the same thing in basically every industry. And it works just as well.
