Thanks for the Last Year

Folks I just wanted to share a thought or two and thank you all for all the help I have received on this site.

I took up photography for the first time in November of last year with a D3200 after I had a stroke that made working as a marketing engineer pretty much impossible. Lots of aggravation associated with it. I had always wanted to take pictures and my therapist seemed to think it would help with the cognitive stuff.

I found this site a few weeks later and joined but was pretty intimidated by it all and did not even know what I did not know and confidence and second guessing are my favorite past times since the stoke, so I have kept a low profile rarely even logging in...

But I have learned so much on this forum and I am learning more every day. I am even getting some confidence to start chiming in...

Thanks for all the information shared so freely. I have really enjoyed it, and my intent is to be more active as I am able.

Danno,

I had no idea that you had a stroke... I do hope that both photography in general, and this site, are helping you to recover. I also hope that you are able to become more active here, as it is the activity of the participants that makes this site as good as it is. I am glad that you are here, and look forward to sharing this site with you and all others (well, almost!) in the upcoming year.

(Sorry Don, I know you were thinking that it's the moderators that make so good. You do help, though! ;))

It's great to read your comments. I often tell people that this website has a complete range of photographers, but at the heart is a willingness to help others that are here to learn and are willing to help themselves to learn.

Thanks all for the kind words. I do not mention my health issues on the web often... That's cause I can still type and to most I appear normal... but this new passion and the wealth of knowledge, has been very helpful to me.

It is still hard to talk, still low on energy, but taking photos and learning how have been such a blessing. And I am so thankful for the lack of drama that you find on so many sites. Everyone has opinions, but here everyone seems to be adult about it... and I am not afraid offer an opinion or to ask a question... the thing is most have already been asked :)

Merry Christmas

Danno

When one door closes God will open another.

Again, THANK you
