TetherTools.com - DIY Solution?

TetherTools.com

I've been looking for an inexpensive solution for tethering. I want to be able to securely attach my tablet to my tripod, so that when I'm tethering and importing directly to Lightroom on my tablet, it's all mobile and handy. In my studio, I have a roll-a-round laptop stand. It gets the job done, but I'd like something more convenient that I can use anywhere.

Something like this is exactly what I had in mind, minus the power pack. Don't think I need to take it that far. Maybe I'm just being naive, but these prices seem a bit steep. This could be a good DIY project for a fraction of the price, but I'm not really coming up with anything.

Ideas?

I have the software (Lightroom)...that's not the issue. Looking for a way to physically attach my tablet to my tripod.

Forgot to mention...

I have the ASUS Transformer, which is a 10" netbook w/ detachable keyboard. However, the USB port is located on the keyboard, so it would have to remain attached and be used like a small laptop in order to connect to the camera.

This might be overkill but....

Yeah, I like the Tripad. I was on a shoot once where one of the guys was using one.

It's a little large for my tablet, but if I can't make the DIY thing work, I'll probably order it. The price is at least reasonable.
