If you like to learn by looking at what others have done, there's a thing called TEN Collection where 10 artists go through 10 Photoshop artworks in 10 months, and on one day each month (the 10th) you can download the PSD file royalty free. This will allow you to look at exactly what this guy did to create that piece of work. Definitely not for the novice, but heck, keep it around and poke at it as you learn CS6. And they have a video explaining the work as well. All videos and jpgs are available, and previous PSD files can be purchased.
