Yes. I stumbled on to an article that boasted the 55/1.8 at OTIS quality levels. That claim interested me and the more I read, the more I wanted this lens. As far as a vehicle, the A7 appeared to be perfect. I followed your posts and on-line articles. Then, all of a sudden, the A7II and A9 hit the headlines. I decided the Mark 2 was the camera I wanted and as they, it's all history now. I was becoming more and more dependent on a tripod for sharpness-confidence. Side-by-side, my D800-50/1.8 will out perform my A7II-55/1.8 (under a microscope), but the A7II's ability to freeze shots far surpasses my Nikon VR lenses. The A7II gives me much more opportunity to take candid, walk-about, or unplanned shots. If I will shoot a dedicated, planned, target, I will set up my D800. The A7II is doing exactly what I had hoped and exactly the purpose for which it was designed. And as far as subjects are concerned, I enjoy shooting in Ohio much more than Florida. I love the architecture and diversity of subjects. In Florida, I have to return to earlier targets and figure out new angles, etc. I guess that's good academically, but just less interesting to me. Florida is beautiful, but you can only take so many sunrises, sunsets, and ocean themes. 3 more months, and I'm back in CLE-town.
