Tamron AF 70-300mm works with D3100?

Does this work with Nikon D3100?

I understand that it fits D3100 but will it auto focus?

Needs to be a BIM (built-in motor) to auto focus. Like Sigma's HSM, our own AF-S/SWM, etc.

I looked at the link you posted and in the Reviews there is one person that specifically talks about using it with a D3100 so you might want to check the reviews there. He did say the Auto Focus was good with that lens on his D3100. I have not shot with that lens so I really can't tell you anymore about it.

looks like the same type of Tamron 70-300 that I have. If so, it will focus with the D3100.
