Thanks for your response bluzman. This lens seems to have that 'hump' at around 300mm as well. I don't mind. It doesn't stop zooming or hang up, just has to have minimal effort to go past. I've been using the lens. It still functions perfectly. Quality won't match a prime lens, we all know that but, for what it is, I'm very happy.
