Hi All

Im looking to buy a new body either a D7100 or a D7200. That said Iv found the right place for a second hand body but looking at new has been different Has anyone used either of E-Gloabl Central (UK) or Potus Digital. which both have thhhe body under £600 But looking at the delivery time I think they are out of the UK so am worried they may not be ""Proper"" if you get my drift? Has anyone else seen the body only around the £600 mark new and if so where please?

Has any one used HDEW CAMERAS thay are based in the UK (Surry) and you can collect the camera body from them. And there is a 3 year warranty which is included and the body is £609? plus £10 for postage if you cannot collect?

Thanks

P.S. Sorry just followed your link above and seen it was to HDEW after I had asked the above question Doh lol

I think TechiB are grey. Usually what gives it away is the price. If theres a significant difference between what its selling for and high street prices, its grey. Theres an RRP that Nikon Europe (UK) set. Dunno what this looks like now that the £ has lost so much value. As for MPB, i've dealt with them quite a bit. They usually give the best prices for second hand stock. I know when i've sold to them they want to know where the equipment was sourced. I dont think they knowingly buy grey, though, i'm not sure theres a way to prove it really as they dont ask for proof of purchase etc.

Thats interesting with MPB then But I suppose if it needed a repair and it was used you would have to pay anyway would you not..
Also been looking at the delivery times and HDEW seam the quickest and look as though they keep stock here as you can collect?

I have also been reading a lot about the Grey area and that all the bodys are built one the sameline and in the same factory Its only when the serial numbers are registered with the country it is sold to All other serial No's are then classed as "Grey" So nomatter where you got the body from Be it HK, China, Aus as soon as you wanted it repaired it would be flagged as grey import. (That is what is happening in the US at the moment. So for instance a guy bought a new body in Aus then moved to the US does this then make his new body a grey import and have to send it back to Aus to get it repaired? Infact all his Nikon gear would then be grey imports?. Its silly the more you read into the grey area debarkle is it not. I mean A Nikon is a Nikon is a Nikon under these circumstances Yes?.

So the question infront of me now is do I spend £609 on a NEW grey import from HDEW with 3 year warrenty. Or £599 on a used (May or may not be a grey import) with 10,000 ish shutter count from MPB? errrrrrrrr. Personally I dont think you will need a mind reader?

P.S. Oh and a £10 off voucher from HDEW for my email address imput..(It all counts dont it)

I have a few bits of grey gear myself. My D810 was £700 cheaper as a grey from Panamoz than on the high street, so it was a no brainer to me. And it does have a warranty
