Summer shooting

Just curious,

For those of you that live in hot, humid areas, what do you do when shooting outside?

I love hiking and shooting landscapes, wildlife, "macro" etc but it becomes unbearable to even venture outside at times. Sweat rolling down onto the viewfinder, being eaten by bugs, and just the rest of the unpleasant parts of summer. It's getting to the point that OFF doesn't cut it anymore.

What do you folks do when it comes to heat, bugs, gear/clothing for shooting outdoors whether it be downtown, landscapes, hiking or wildlife?

Kind of just a rant but....I hate the heat...

Best time of day is when the skeeters are biting, unfortunately.

I can't complain about heat...Texas is struggling to get into the 80s so far this summer, but I know it's coming.

Skeeters are a problem even down in DRY SE AZ. The heat is ok until the filters melt a make the image look like a goopy glob. :D Seriously, I just do what I can and when it gets unbearable I have to find something to shoot indoors. Ha!

I've spent a few summers in Grand Junction, CO and Moab, UT. The dry heat is so much more bearable than the humid crap (don't get me wrong, heat sucks no matter what/where) I don't think I could ever live in the south though, just sounds miserable.

I rely on the fact I'm too sweet and the mosquitoes really leave me alone. Some people seem to be a buffet and attract every mosquito. I'm fortunate that they seem to leave me alone.

I just checked the weather in Omaha, NE and only 2 days out of the next 10 that even get into the 90s. Our next 10 days are between 97 and 99 each day. I am learning to do a lot of night shooting like around midnight or so. Just bathe in bug spray.

I mean for later this summer. It's been pretty nice lately other than the bugs and rain.

Going to do some research on better warm weather cloths cause jeans aren't doing it for me with the humidity.
