Hello all,
I am planning to shoot Devils Tower in Wyoming.

Do you know any locations that i can shoot the sunrise and sunset.

Any lodging/camping close by?

Thanks for your help,
G

Download The Photographer's Ephemeris app for your smartphone/tablet and see where you might want to locate yourself to best grab each of those shots with relation to the rising and setting sun the dates you'll be there. Then visit 500px and Flickr and search for photos of the sites that are similar to what you are looking for and geotagged and use those to further guide you.

There's a pull-off on both sides of 24 about a mile south of the Tower. Great place for Golden Hour shots.

Also, plan the time to take the trail around it.

There's two campgrounds right there.

And just a heads-up..... this is still considered sacred ground to Native Americans. You will see small 'trinkets' hanging in trees. Those are not to be disturbed, and photographing them is offensive to those that placed them there as they are part of their prayers. So please be respectful of them.

Thanks for the recommendation on The Photographer's Ephemeris earlier. I grabbed the app pack on the iPad this week and am looking to test it out in the neighborhood before we go on vacation next month.

There's also an app for a desktop/laptop. I think there's a charge of like $5 or 10 for it. But still worth the lunch money.
