Suggestions for best shots of Pugs

My neighbour is a UK Kennel Club member and dog show judge. She lives and loves dogs.
She has asked me to take some pictures of her dogs for her to use on Christmas cards this year.

The dogs are Pugs so quite small.

Any suggestions on best compositions ?

When I think of Christmas, I think of all the colorful lights. Set up some X-mas lights behind where you plan to shoot them to get some nice colorful Bokeh.

You could always go for the cliché and put a Santa hat on one of them. But here are some much better ideas. I find this site quite useful for getting ideas sometimes.

Though honestly, I think this one is not half bad and more than just the usual cliché!
