Streaming video/tv, music, & pics through PS3/Xbox/Wii via wifi network extender

Even better I found a <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0077BB3VA/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0077BB3VA&linkCode=as2&tag=celphofor0d-20" target="_blank">refurbished one for $15 less.</a> Perfect! I'll allow me to hook the PS3 up to the network extender via the ethernet port. It's even small enough to put next to the PS3 in my entertainment center.</p><p></p><p><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005FDXMJS/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B005FDXMJS&linkCode=as2&tag=celphofor0d-20" target="_blank">[ATTACH]383538[/ATTACH]</a></p><p></p><p>The setup was pretty straight forward, although at the configuring step (after entering the password for the wireless network you want to connect to) it threw an error despite actually being setup and working.</p><p></p><p>The next road bump I ran into was with my FIOS router. I was pulling out hair trying to figure out why I couldn't see the PlayOn media server from the PS3 or my laptop while on the same network. Apparently by default the FIOS actiontec router doesn't allow wireless streaming. So for anyone out there having the same issue, do this:</p><p></p><p>Login to the router (192.168.1.1) <em>Advanced > Yes > IPMG Proxy</em> - Set <em>IGMP Proxy (Enable/Disable)</em>: to <em>Disable</em> and save.</p><p></p><p>Now I have faster wireless streaming on my TV through my PS3! Note that the program I used also works with an Xbox, Wii, Android & iOS devices.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Tips:</p><ul> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">Make sure media streaming is enabled on your PS3 under settings</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">If you previously had your PS3 set to your wireless network, make sure to run the internet connection setup again so it connects to the now wired network extender.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul">If you have other devices you want to connect to the extender you may see your SSID twice when viewing wifi networks.
