While not a rare activity among tree rats, I have a squirrel in my backyard that seems to sploot all the time. This is the first time I've managed to catch him on camera. Most of the time I see him through the back door. I happened to be outside today trying to get some bird pics, and saw him splooting on a branch. It is a rather warm day today. The weirdest place I've seen him doing it is on top of a short section of log I have upright near the feeders.
