Hi all, I am looking to you for some advice. I need to purchase a new speedlight for my D7000 and D5000 to use at a wedding I have been asked to photograph, in Cyprus in March. I have a budget of about £100,, any recommendations ?

Thanks in advance

Are you going to be the primary photographer ? How big is the church and how much available light will be present? How important is the cycle rate?

With your budget, I guess that puts the Nikon SB 910 out of the equation?

100 pounds? thats nothing. you should have 2 because those little glitter things on the camera are very limited. full wedding coverage? no less than 2 yongnuo 565. af assist beam which you you will probably need in dark situations, recycle fast, and powerful output.

seems to me you dont have your gear in order to do a wedding. if you dont have one then im guessing (I may be wrong) you need more practice with flash use? mixing ambient with speedlights. I wouldnt take that weight on my shoulders.

what lenses will you be using?

For the budget you have, you will be very hard pushed to get any decent flash let alone one for each camera body :(

What might be an alternative is hiring
Nikon Speedlight SB-900 flashgun to hire at LensesForHire

The SB-900 will cost you £40 for 7 days, and the SB-910 £46 for 7 days.
What's good about them is, they will deliver the day before your hire starts, and you return it the day after your hire finishes. So for a seven day hire you get it for 7 days plus a few extra hours on the day before and the day after depending on post :)

Thats a kick ass idea! a great alternative. because I think he will need the time to practice with them. how they react, what to expect from them and how they will look. he wrote semi pro but...no flashes..so..

Not sure how much 100(pounds?) is, but I've been nothing but happy with my Yongnuo flashes. I have a 565 and a 568. you can get the 565's for under 100USD now, which is a great deal. Renting IS a great option. I'm going on a cruise in a month, and am probably going to rent the 70-200 for a week for under 100$. If your renting, I'd stick with the 910, as it'll give you the most pop for the category, and fairly straight foreword in TTL
