I feel sorry for those naive enough to believe that gun ownership should be limited to the military and police. These people are possible future victims. There are a lot of bad people out there. That’s a fact. And I’m not being “paranoid”. My wife and I live in Virginia and carry concealed wherever we go. And let me tell you it makes us feel much safer knowing we can protect ourselves (and possibly others if needed) if that time comes. The first thing I ask anyone indicating to me that guns should be outlawed is this ….. Can you guarantee my safety? Can the police guarantee my safety? The answer of course is, no they cannot. Hell, even I can’t guarantee my own safety. So, this being the case, how can anyone deny someone the right to protect themselves and their family by being firearms owners? Easy, these people fear guns. And they should. Guns are dangerous. And in the hands of the wrong people are even more dangerous. It sucks we live in a world and a society that is like this. And those that think it can be changed for the better by denying firearm ownership to the law abiding are being foolish. Telling people they can’t own guns here in the United States is like saying we can deport all of the illegal aliens. It will never happen. It’s funny, there are those that believe in a woman’s right to “protect herself and her future” by providing on-demand abortion. Yet these same people would tell you that I do not have the same right to “protect myself and my future” by owning a firearm. These people live in a world where each morning they wake up, raise their hands above their heads, sway back and forth, left and right, and sing ….. “It’s a whole new world!”. These people do not understand basic human nature. That Man is inherently evil. And to believe otherwise is not only foolish but dangerous to themselves and their families. I work hard for what I have. And to allow someone to take any of it from me and my family is not acceptable. Believe me …… the last thing they will see is the muzzle flash of my .45 …… shortly followed (of course) of my SB-700 attached to my D7000. Protecting oneself is not only a right it is an instinct. And you cannot legislate instinct.
