Snap shot...

Ok this is literally a snapshot of a scene from a 4wd in pouring rain. I like it and think it has value, the ISO is high... Thoughts and criticism please....

Very nice capture for a snapshot Scott. The only thing I'd try to mess with would be the color. Maybe warmup the bottom part to make it glow a little more. I find it just a tad cold. And crop the little bush on the left to make that big tree closer to the third of the picture.

I like it, nice "snap shot", especially coming from a moving vehicle. As for critiquing landscape images, it's kind of hard. I mean, a landscape is what it is. And the only thing one can comment on are the technical aspects like exposure and focus. It looks in focus to me and the exposure seems to be perfect judging from the histogram. One could say a more dramatic sky would have been nice or maybe if the clouds opened up and brightly lit one of the trees but things like that could be said about any landscape image. But for me, I like it and given the gray nature of the image, I wonder what the B&W would look like.

Dave it got darker and rainier lol so no chance of that light, but maybe next time...

Here is a B&W version.

I think I like the un-cropped B&W best. If you have Nik SilverEfex (or even LR) you could throw down some control points in the clouds and make them a bit more dramatic. And I also notice in the B&W that the water reflections seem to take on a more prominent role in the over-all image when compared to the color (or is that "colour" ;)) version.

Dont have those software but I like trying to achieve results in what I have... Hmmm wonder what they do.

Wow, made a big difference, IMO. Gives the work a bit more mystery and uniqueness when compared with the original version.
