Snagit app for web browsers

Well, if ever you needed additional worries about your images and intellectual property on the internet, here's something that will help keep you up at nights. And while screen capture and edit isn't anything new, this cute little app makes it all the more easier. Now your mother-in-law, the same person who calls you for help on even the slightest of computer problems, can expertly capture right-button disabled and copyrighted images all day long.

Snagit for Google Chrome

The only answer to screen capture programs like this is low resolution images and a watermark that isn't so obtrusive that the pirate may opt to keep in in the image. It's a shame they can't come up with some kind of algorithm that automatically scrambles an image once after viewing x-number of times. Or maybe one that allows your image to be visible for x-number of days after which it self destructs....

But, there are such applications, though not freely obtainable - for a few years now, the "
algorithm" for self-distraction of files is used by, you-know-which organizations...At one point, Micro$oft, Apple, Adobe and some others, wanted to protect their software (installations) that way, but they gave up the idea for some reason(s).
What I do not understand is that so many photographers are afraid/obsessed by the possible "theft" - either you're a pro, so do the job for money (weddings, adverts, commercials, product photography...) and don't let anybody (except your client) see your photos, or be a hobbyist and share it with the World... Or post the resized photos, slightly bigger that thumbnails, so that all
will be able to see them but none to really (mis)use them...

Besides the recording aspect, it seems similar to Windows Snipping Tool. The Snipping Tool has to be one of the easiest ways to capture images.
