I have a very small scratch on the front element of my 18-140mm lens. Am I going to lose much value when I'm going to sell it? It doesn't effect the images at all.

The answer is, "It depends". And it depends on the buyer.
I kind of figured that. I was all set to put it up for sale, because I'm looking at the Tamron 16-300, but now I'm not sure what to ask for it. I paid $300 so if I can get around $225-250 I would do it.

I think most people would not want it with a scratch on it. I know that it would not show or really effect the IQ much. Let me ask you. Would you buy it? Be honest. It would have to be a major bargain before I would. You can buy a refurb with a year warranty for $315. I would think you would need to drop that by half with a scratch.

Honestly, no I wouldn't buy it. I guess I'll just keep it and get the 16-300 when I get some more cash saved and keep the 18-140 as a backup lens. Maybe I'll just get a Tamzooka. Yea.

It is really a shame because we all know that it has very little to no effect on the photo. It would have to really be a bargain for most of us to buy it.

Just get the 16-300 mm It will be on your camera 99% of the time at least it is on mine and I am sure will be till I can afford some really good lens.
