Finally test drove my large bender + softbox attachment and I liked everything but the bulk. Softbox option is the main attractive factor for me, but if the small bender can't really deliver enough spread, then perhaps I can get/make a simple pizza-slice white card to bounce light better than a gary fong cup or the crappy standard diffuser.
