I have a Tamron 18-270mm F/3.5 that I love but it is DX and I use it on my D7000 Love it as well and besides for some primes 35 and 50mm Nikon F/1.8 Again super cool as a walk around as it will cover a lot of bases.
I own a D600 and just purchased a Sigma- 24-70 F2.8 IF EX DG today. The lens is fantastic! I can see how it will become my go to walk around lens. I looked at the Nikon but it was twice the price and the specs were remarkably similar in both lenses. Nikon: Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8G ED Autofocus Lens (Black) 2164 Sigma: Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 IF EX DG HSM Autofocus Lens for Nikon 571306 I like Nikon branded stuff but the price on the Nikkor was outside my budget. So was the Sigma but at least it was do able. I have a Tamron 18-270mm F/3.5 that I love but it is DX and I use it on my D7000 Love it as well and besides for some primes 35 and 50mm Nikon F/1.8 Again super cool as a walk around as it will cover a lot of bases. The difference in quality is far less than the difference in price over a Nikon lens.
