And some Sigmas are better than Nikon etc. I have a couple of Sigmas because they are highly rated and offer me things that Nikon's current offerings do not. I'm using the 17-50 2.8 for DX because it has VR where as Nikon's 17-55 does not. I also have the 150 2.8 Macro. So far I'm thrilled with both. The Macro is especially fine. I bought it because it came highly recommended and gives me more working distance than the Nikon 105.I'm not familiar with the Tamrons but the Sigma DGs are for FX and their DCs are for the DX.</blockquote>
