Thanks mikew , could have altered it my self but wanted to know what I could adjust in camera settings , saturation or contrast to combat the slight washed out look this lens can give . Save using pp for most shots.

A washed out contrast may have more to do with the light than settings. If it is an overcast day that is how it looks.

Download Nikon NX-D beta. Shoot RAW and then
. Adjust the exposure one or two stops down.
. Use Active D lighting to recover shadows.
. A little bit of fiddling and you will be surprised at the result.

At F11 diffraction sets in and makes images softer, so try and keep below f8.

Not in camera. Shoot RAW and use the D Lighting dialog to boost the visible DR.
