I tried it on my D7100, D610 and D750 before sending it out. I called Sigma and they said that, yes, there's a compatibility issue with the D7200 and they have a firmware upgrade for the lens that they will apply for free if I send it in. My friend contacted Nikon and this is a direct quote from her customer support email... Thank you for calling Nikon. We do not recommend using 3rd party lenses with your D7200. We do have Micro lenses from Nikon: ... ...and it goes on to link to their website. Really, Nikon?! You're now installing hacks to make sure people to buy your glass?! This, and this specifically, is why I can see myself never buying another Nikon DSLR body. Utter nonsense. You have to wait 2-4 months for world class editing software to support the new RAW format because they will not issue it in advance to vendors like Canon does, and you are now running the risk of rendering all your non-Nikkor lenses inoperable until the vendor comes up with a firmware fix - if that ever happens. You really suck, Nikon. Seriously, seriously suck. Remember Sony and the Betamax? Even if it's better, people will refuse to buy it if they have no choices in accessories.
