Got the lenses today. It was described as in new condition. I was happy to see this was so. Came with hood, caps and a UV filter. The lenses is well made. Light because it doesn't have a internal focusing motor. It also has a metal mount that I didn't think to check on before buying it. I bought it for the sole purpose of the 200-300 super Macro mode. It does not have any vibration control, so a tripod or mono-pod is recommended. Here it is just out of the box:

Here is a test shot set at 300mm macro. On a tripod using remote shutter. This picture is unedited and not cropped, I did need to resize it due to file size. Shot from about 4 feet away.

For a 60.00 investment, I think I did alright.

I read all imaginable reviews back when I was thinking going budget for 300 reach, and I ended up w/ the 70-300 VR for all good reasons. If you really want to play with macro, just get a macro lens like Tamron SP 90mm E72. They're very cheap, 1:1, and as good and sharp as any next one.
