Hey folks, this lens just got ranked #2 by DxOMark after the "Trinity" 24-70mm f2.8 Nikkor in the "Standard Zoom" category for best lenses for the D800. Pretty Impressive. DxOMark - Nikon D800 and standard lens choices There have been some questions regarding performance at low apertures. I took a series of JPG's at f2.8, 4 & 5.6 at 24mm, 35mm, 50mm and 70mm (or the closest approximation based on the zoom dial) and uploaded them here. These are jpegs taken directly from a D800 with no editing other than to add an extension to the file name (_DSCnnnn-70f28 means 70mm at f2.8). All were shot in Aperture priority mode, which I found interesting since exposure is different at the same focal length but different aperture ... but that's a camera thing, right? :)
