Message: <blockquote data-quote="mauckcg" data-source="post: 266453" data-attributes="member: 13944">Build quality is fantastic.  It's kinda hard to tell the difference between the metal and plastic on the lens.  The zoom and focus rings are very smooth and have a nice weighted feel.  It is rather heavy and does pull my D7100 forward, but then again, so does my 70-200 2.8.  The close focus focal plane is very very narrow at 1.9, and the sharpness is excellent wide open.  Stopped down it's still excellent.  Autofocus is smooth and fast.My 35 1.8 has been quite a bit more difficult to use wide open on the D7100 than my D5200.  The 18-35 though, much easier to get what your after.</blockquote>
