I pretty much always use flash for macro so I don't want to have a hood in the way. I never actually tested to see if it gives me a shadow, I should try it. Also, it is not one hood for fx and one for dx, the aps-c section is actually a crop camera adapter, meant to be used in conjunction with the full frame hood. If you want, you can leave the adapter section mounted to the lens and reverse the ff hood section on the end of the adapter. The lens cap will then fit on the adapter. That still leaves you with a long assembly though.</p></blockquote><p></p>
